During the 2025/2026 winter season, Colmis proudly celebrated 40 years of winter testing.
What started in 1985 as a small local initiative has grown into a world leading winter proving ground. And while a lot has grown and changed during these four decades, one thing has remained constant throughout the journey: the people behind it.
Customers, partners, employees, suppliers, families, friends of Colmis and everyone who has contributed in one way or another – this milestone belonged to all of you.

To the home of winter testing
The 2025/2026 season gave us plenty of reasons to celebrate.
From a testing perspective, it was a memorable winter as well. January and February brought some of the coldest average temperatures we had seen in many years, creating excellent and consistent testing conditions across our proving ground. March became significantly warmer before conditions improved again towards the end of the season, allowing us to finish strongly.
It was also a season of continued development. During the winter, we introduced new 400 kW fast chargers, continuing our long-term investment in supporting the growing needs of electric vehicle testing.
And beyond the daily testing operations, this season gave us something equally meaningful: an opportunity to pause and reflect on how far Colmis has come over four decades.

A night to celebrate together
40 Years Celebration Dinner — March 21, 2026
At the end of the season, we also hosted a special anniversary dinner at Simloc Lugnet to celebrate this milestone together.
The evening brought together current and former customers, colleagues, long-term partners and friends who have all played an important role in Colmis’ journey.
While not everyone could attend – and we know many more would have liked to be there – the celebration was very much about everyone who has been part of our story over the past 40 years, whether present that evening or not.
It was a warm, relaxed and emotional evening filled with great conversations, laughter, memories and a shared appreciation for the journey we have been on together.
We were particularly honoured to welcome two individuals – now retired and that traveled all the way to Arjeplog to be with us on this special evening – who represent an important part of Colmis history:
Riccardo Dellavalle – a key figure within Fiat/FCA whose support during critical years helped shape Colmis into what it is today.
And Steve Gunn (Haldex) – who experienced Colmis as a customer from almost the very beginning and remained part of our story until his retirement only a few years ago.
Having both of them with us made the evening especially meaningful.
Thank you to everyone who attended — and equally to those who have been part of our journey over the years but could not be with us that evening.

Celebrating 40 years was not only about looking back — it was also a reminder that we are and must keep evolving.
Every season brings new challenges, new technologies and new customer needs. Our ambition remains exactly the same as it has always been:
To continue developing Colmis in line with your needs while preserving the flexibility, passion and personal relationships that have defined us since 1985.
